"The Aftermath of Paltrow's Ski Collision: Lessons Learned on Skiing Safety"
Paltrow's ski collision
In 2016, Paltrow was skiing at the Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah when she collided with a man named Terry Sanderson. Sanderson claimed that Paltrow was skiing out of control and hit him from behind, causing him a brain injury, four broken ribs, and other injuries.
Paltrow denied the allegations and countersued Sanderson, claiming that he was the one at fault for the collision. She also argued that he was trying to exploit her celebrity status for financial gain.
In January 2020, a judge dismissed Paltrow's countersuit, stating that Sanderson had provided enough evidence to support his claim that Paltrow was responsible for the collision. However, the judge also dismissed Sanderson's claim for punitive damages, stating that there was no evidence to suggest that Paltrow had acted with malice or fraud.
The case was eventually settled out of court in September 2020, with the terms of the settlement being kept confidential
